Hollie began dancing at the age of 4 years old at Longwood Performing Arts in Kennett Square, PA under the instruction of Jane Roosevelt. She continued her training in ballet, tap and jazz through high school and college. She has been teaching for 7 years. She has experience with young children through adults. She received her Associates of Arts degree with a concentration in dance at The Community College of Baltimore County in Baltimore, MD. At CCBC, she performed with DDM (Dimensional Dance Media) Dance Company and was the director of the community Learning Division for DDM. She was also a recipient of the McDonald Dance Scholarship and on the Dean’s list. Currently, she is employed at New Castle Dance Academy. Her concentrations are in ballet, tap and jazz/hip-hop. She also instructs and choreographs for the “Star Sapphires” dance team. And when needed, she substitutes classes in other areas such as kinderdance and pointe. Her past employment as been with Rhythmic Visions Dance Center, The Community College of Baltimore County, Let’s Dance Studio, Dance Time Productions and Avon Grove Recreation Association. While at Rhythmic Visions Dance Center, her choreography was performed at the Wachovia Center for the Philadelphia 76ers and the Philadelphia Wings. Her choreography has also been performed at Hershey Park. She taught a dance program at Little Ducklings Learning Center in PA. Her most recent preschool dance program experience was at Little People College in Wilmington, DE. She updates her training and technique as well as her theory at workshops, conventions and conferences as frequent as possible. Such events are the DancePower Dance Convention in Lancaster, PA, Broadway Dance Center Teachers Intensive Seminar and the Dance Teachers Conference in New York City. In addition to her enjoyment of teaching dance, she has children of her own. She is a mother of two boys, a three year old and an infant. |
