ALL DANCEWEAR AND SHOES MUST BE PURCHASED THROUGH THE NEW CASTLE DANCE ACADEMY TO ENSURE UNIFORM COLORS, APPEARANCE, PROPER FIT, AND PROFESSIONALISM.

REQUIRED DANCEWEAR

(Only the required dancewear can be worn to dance class. No leotard with attached skirt or leotard with puff sleeves may be worn for uniformity and professionalism.)  Please note:  Attached skirts cannot be removed for gymnastics.

Pre-Kinderdance I & II - Long sleeve blue, pink or black leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and black tap shoes.  The older kids can wear tanks, etc., but the little ones all ahve to wear long sleeve.  (Pink or black solid color skirts from the studio may be worn.)

Kinderdance I - Pink leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and black tap shoes.  (Pink or black solid color skirts from the studio may be worn.)

Pointe - Pink Pointe shoes (you must have permission from Valerie Gooding before purchasing Pointe shoes, for the brand and style and to determine the technical readiness and physical development, as it is a decision only the instructor can decide).

Tap (Intermediate & Advanced Students) - Black tap/jazz Oxford.

Hi-Tech Jazz & Hip-Hop

(Intermediate & Advanced or Teen/Adult Students) -

A jazz leotard is a must, unless an elasticized jazz style tank or crop top is worn on the body.  Beige tights (regular, convertible or stirrup) jazz pants or shorts and black slip-on bootie/dance T-shirts may be worn for all classes, however, advanced students may only wear them during warm-up.  Hip-Hop students should wear an NCDA T-Shirt.  Hip-Hop Kids (ages 6-8): black sleeveless leotard, beige tights, black NCDA shorts, white or green NCDA t-shirt, black jazz shoes.

Gymnastics - Raspberry and black tank style, bike length unitard (stirrup or convertible beige tights mat be worn, but it is not a requirement).  Gymnastic shoes are required for safety and cleanliness.

THESE POLICIES HELP TO ENSURE A FINE AND PROFESSIONAL ATMOSPHERE FOR ALL DANCERS AND GYMNASTS.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION

HAIR:  Students must have hair up off the neck to allow the instructor to observe the curvature of the spine and proper posture.  Hair must be secured away from the face to eliminate distractions and avoid a student from having to push the hair away from the face, and to help a student observe the instructor in order to execute all moves in the most comfortable manner.  One or two ponytails are ideal for Pre-Kinderdance and Kinderdance classes, which involve gymnastics.  A bun is required for Ballet.  A ponytail is fine for Jazz and Tap (two ponytails are ideal for Gymnastics).  If hair is too short for ponytails or bun, make sure it is secured with bobby pins or clips, or slicked back with mousse, gel, etc.

JEWELRY:  Please do not wear jewelry, as it can get caught on something and break and even hurt a student when dancing or tumbling.  No necklaces, bracelets, earrings, watches, etc.

ABSOLUTELY NO GUM, FOOR OR DRINKS ARE PERMITTED IN THE STUDIO AND LOBBY.  STUDENTS ARE PERMITTED TO BRING WATER TO CLASS.
