To register & hold a space, 1st month and last month (Sept & June payment) is due in full at the time of registration. If at any time tuition is not paid, classes cannot be attended. You are financially responsible for tuition until May. If classes cannot be continued, you must notify the studio in writing to release tuition obligation. The commitment will stop 30 days after the written notice is received in the office. If you change a class, there will be a $10.00 charge. No show for 3 weeks without notice will result in dismissal. No adjustments will be made for classes missed. Tuition is not refundable or transferable. The 5th lesson occurring in some months is considered a make-up for holidays when closed. Student Placement Policies

Students are placed in an age-appropriate class with respect to physical development, individual potential and proficiency by the director with the student’s best interest in mind. Students are stimulated to advanced as they are technically able to do so, and are instructed of their strengths and weaknesses in a balanced manner.

Attendance

Regular attendance is essential for progress. The school is not responsible for absences. You must call and notify the school when a student is absent. Make-up classes can be arranged at that time, or call before attending the make-up class. Please keep these to a minimum and within the same week. During inclement weather, please listen to WSTW, WJBR or WILM for cancellation notices, or call the studio. The school is not responsible for absences due to inclement weather, but will accommodate students making up as best we can. If make-ups cannot be utilized, there will not be a reduction in tuition. Students are encouraged to make up classes to ensure steady muscular development and memorization/listening skills. Repeated absences jeopardizes a student’s progress and confidence and could result in dismissal.

Visiting Days

Classes will be notified through our monthly newsletter for specific dates. Parents or guardians are welcome and may speak with the instructors with any questions regarding a student’s progress at this time.

Parent – Teacher Communication

All teachers are available to discuss your child’s progress and goals. Just request to schedule a time convenient for both you and the teacher. Our teachers are also known for inviting parents in on occasions as the “audience.” The teacher will make an announcement or send a memo for your information.

Hair – Students must have hair up off the neck to allow the instructor to observe the curvature of the spine and proper posture. Hair must be secured away from the face to eliminate distractions and avoid a student from having to push the hair away from the face, and to help a student observe the instructor in order to execute all moves in the most comfortable manner. One or two ponytails are ideal for Pre-Kinder-Dance and Kinder-Dance classes, which involve gymnastics. A bun is required for Ballet. A ponytail is fine for Jazz and Tap (two ponytails are ideal for Gymnastics). If hair is too short for ponytails or bun, make sure it is secured with bobby pins or clips, or slicked back with mousse, gel, etc.

Jewelry – Please do not wear jewelry, as it can get caught on something and break and even hurt a student when dancing or tumbling. No necklaces, bracelets, earrings, watches, etc.
